Antiracism: The diocese of Newark has done extremely well in trying to breakdown the walls of racism. To date, the following has been accomplished: 107 Episcopal Churches in our diocese have participated in the antiracism training program. Two Baptist Churches, one Presbyterian, and two private organizations have joined us for training. Thou training is not our ultimate goal, it begins the process of bringing people together for exchanging opinions and ideas and exploring the possibilities of differences.

Annual Conference & Annual Meeting: The Rev. Dr. Sandye A. Wilson On Saturday, May 15, the Diocese of Newark experienced a wonderful celebration of new ministry. The Rev. Dr. Sandye Wilson, National President of UBE, became the 18th Rector of the Episcopal Church of St. Andrew & Holy Communion in South Orange, New Jersey. The Rt. Rev. Martin G. Towsend , Assistant Bishop of
the Diocese of Newark was the celebrant. The Rt. Rev. Michael B. Curry,
Bishop of North Carolina was the preacher. As usual, Bishop Curry
delivered a fiery sermon. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "See the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them as their God; They will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them; he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away. " And the one who was seated on the throne said, "See, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this, for these words are trust-worthy and true." The music was excellent! Many children participated in the liturgy. The service was followed by a festive reception. Please see photo gallery. UBE Fundraising Card Party On Saturday, June 12, 2004, the Newark Chapter hosted a Card Party to support its Scholarship fund.
